Won't last
I have a couple of these and both have melted, lasting1.5-2 years. One of the mits melted and became a hole. I found out once my fingertip was directly on the hot cookie sheet. The other has begun to melt in the same area. It needing washing and it held up to the delicate wash and air dry. Just go with something like your mom has.

Poor quality
Just removed my 2 from the washer and they've fallen apart. The thumb thingy has separated from the mitt on one. Don't put them in your machine if you have them. Also the inside came apart in clumps and is now all over the tablecloth that I washed at the same time. The tag inside says machine washable but don't count on it.
