Functional plastic
We own the SodaStream Source and decided to buy the Genesis to use at a weekend house. It works just as well but feels more plasticky (?) than the Source and less durable. Not a solid appliance but does the job.

JUST BUY AT THE STORE
I don't have any serious issues with the product-- just the shipment of it from the warehouse.
I had to call FedEx at least 4 times because they didn't have my complete address, they said I was not at home to sign (although I was, every single time), or there wouldn't be any more delivery attempts made. I had to post notes every day for a week for the FedEx driver to be aware of my complete address + apt # and confirm that I was home; it was more stressful/ frustrating/ time consuming than it should have been. It was finally delievered on the eigth attempt.
I had had Sodastream shipped to me for the convenience of not having to carry it home, but I would not recommend this shipping option due to the potential headaches involved-- especially with Hazmat and its restrictions. I would just recommend buying directly at the store.

one short fall
Gave these to our kids for Christmas. They both love them. One has it in her bedroomj. The only compliant would be is we live 100 miles round trip from a BBB store, so replacing the cartridge is abit difficult. Otherwise no problems. They really love them as do their kids.

Great for when you are out of Coke!
Got this for my teenagers for Christmas, they love it. Once you figure out your co2 ratio to syrup that you like, its a breeze to make up some soda! Cleans up easy as well. We live in a rural area and sometimes run out of soda at the house, its nice to be able to make some in a hurry for movies or dinner!
