Well Worth the Money:)
I had owned an older model Vitamix several years ago. When I had put it in storage for a bit I found the seals had gone, to my dismay and felt it was not worth it to send it to the company to be repaired. I decided to bite the bullet and invest in newer model and I'm very glad I did! I loved my old 3600 and really ran it through it's paces with the excellent cookbook I'd received with the unit. The newer 1363 I feel gives even better performance and the cookbook is very nice. I'm planning on buying the 'dry' blade container next since I do a fair bit of bread making and don't want to scratch up my 'wet' blade container. Vitamix always makes a wonderful product and I would highly recommend purchasing one to anyone who is considering it. You definitely 'get what you pay for' with these blenders:)!!

Vitamix vs Blendtec...........Vitamix!!
After countless hours over the course of several days (literally), I have finally solved the big question for myself: Blendtec or Vitamix? Before I began I was equally on the fence about them both, recognizing the overstated pros/cons and general differences of each. I made up my mind and got the Blendtec….and returned it the next day for the Vitamix. I didn’t really give Blendtec a fair chance per say, but all else considered there were a few deciding factors. 1. Based on my research and other reviews, Vitamix simply blends better and smoother. After all, that’s the most important function of a blender to me, and for these prices, the one I choose sure as heck better blend til it’s smooth as milk (which is how I would describe my first Vitamix green smoothie!) 2. Versatility. At first I didn’t like the fact of using a tamper. However, in further thinking, the fact that Vitamix has the tamper makes it so much more efficient and versatile at other tasks such as chunky dips (guacamole comes to mind). It’s true, many times you don’t need the tamper, but it’s a tool to use. When the Blendtec needs a little help, you’re stuck using a spatula or whatever else and digging around in there without a safety mechanism like you have with Vitamix’s tamper. Another advantage is being able to run the machine at a much slower RPM so you can get some chunks in dips, etc if you so choose, rather than immediately pulverizing everything. Not to mention, on the other end of the spectrum, the Vitamix runs at 9,000 RPM faster than Blendtec’s highest setting to get it so perfectly smooth. 3. Noise. No doubt Blendtec is noticeably louder. Period. 4. Overall feel of quality. Everything from the packaging to the unit and carafes themselves, I just got that good, solid, heavy duty feel from the Vitamix that I felt was lacking from Blendtec, especially for a comparable product in the same price range. 5. Recipe books. The recipe book included with the Vitamix blows Blendtec’s right out of the water. Sooooo many more recipes and every single one of them sound amazing. And better yet, they use simple, common ingredients readily available at any store. Blendtec’s is decent overall, but Vitamixs’ has a very sturdy three-ring binder that looks like an expensive, professional recipe book, not some cheap freebie thrown into the box (not saying Blendtec’s feels like a freebie). 6. Controls. I really like the manual control function Vitamix has. Sure it’s cool Blendtec has pre-programmed functions, but really, in a Vitamix you turn in on the lowest setting, immediately turn it from 1 to 10, then High, and by then everything’s already disintegrated. I much prefer Vitamix’s controls. Besides, Blendtec even says right in the directions you may have to run a second cycle to get the consistency you want, so really, you’re not guaranteed a perfect blend just because it’s pre-programmed. Sorry this was so long, but hopefully you find it helpful. I never would have thought I’d have such a strong opinion for one over the other, but I’m glad I settled the great debate for myself!

Best Piece of Kitchen Equipment I Own
I received the Vita-Mix for my birthday from my husband. I love to cook, but with having a new baby, it's hard to take the time I used to spend in the kitchen to make homemade meals. Yes, the Vita-Mix is slightly louder than a blender, but what do you expect from such a powerful, amazing machine? My baby doesn't mind and neither do I. I can make breakfast smoothies in less than 2 minutes. The recipes provided are tasty AND a helpful guide for making up your own recipes. I love making healthy, nutritious meals for my family. The Vita-Mix has helped me loose my baby weight and set a good example of healthy eating for my kids. Plus, making my own baby food is a breeze. This equipment replaces my grinder, food process, and old blender. A must have for any kitchen!

Vitamix Blender
Waaaaaay too noisy! I woke up the whole house in the morning. It was too expensive and really unnecessary for our lifestyle and my cooking abilities. I love to cook and enjoy it too. No reason to be in such a hurry to do any of the things it can do accompanied by such racket.
