Quietly effective and efficient
A bit pricey but worth it.
My unit did not start off the box and had to call their customer service (M-F 8-3 Central). They asked me to take off the plug from the motor and put it back in (sort of a reset of the motor) and worked fine after that.
Very simple engineering but will require a little maintenance to keep it running well, as per the instruction manual. Cleaning it you can either use the recommended cleaning fluid or simply use warm water and distilled white vinegar--once a month on an 8-hour per day usage. It is also recommended you use their water additive which runs about $17 to last approx. 3-5 months depending how much you use it. I haven't tried using it without the additive yet.
It has helped my daughters' sleep more soundly and minimize lip and skin drying this winter. The room is approx. 15x20 using model LW25. And you can hardly hear the unit on settings 1 and 2.

Venta Airwasher
I love my venta airwashers. I own a few of these. They work extremely well and I don't need to replace filters like I did on my old humidifiers.

Over Engineered-Does not work
Do not bother with this, over engineered, low quality, and complicated device. Did not start out of the box and the support hours are 9-3. M-F. Really? Banks have longer hours that this company. Who has time to figure out something like a humidifier, which should be just add water and run? Forget it. I'll be returning mine as soon as possible. You would think that BB&B would screen companies for support hours and quality control.
