DANGEROUS
This coffee maker worked great for about 2 years until tonight when it started sounding like it was shorting out or coffee was spilling on the burner. When I investigated, I found the burner smoking and when the carafe was removed, the burner was so red hot it was ready to burst into flames. Had this happened in the morning, we would have been gone and our house burned down. Many complaints about this to Cuisinart, but not much resolution and NO RECALL.

very happy
maybe i'm blessed, but i've owned this model for ten years and it's still functioning beautifully. my carafe has developed a 2" long hairline crack in the bottom and i'm researching for a replacement carafe, that's how i stumbled upon this site and took the time to write this. will buy same unit again when it plays out, whenever that may be!

Worked Great
I have had this coffee pot for 6 years (4 different house moves in two different states) now and finally went out. You had to set the timer for one minute from the time to start the maker. I figure 6 years was good for me and now have to buy another maker since it is taking 30 minutes to brew a pot and smells like it is burning. I actaully just bought another type but will take it back before I open it and buy this one again. I am happy with it.

Good but only lasted 2.5 years
Made great coffee for 2.5 years then suddenly died. Simply wouldn't turn on. Fortunately, was covered by a nice 3yr warranty (which is especially good for CA residents), and BB&B gave me full refund with in-store.
