Tubing Party
This is a staple item I bring along with me to 3 places... tailgating when I have to go to another persons set-up (as I can clip it on me), golfing (as I'm not the uptight, serious golfer and I'd like some tunes in the background, and if you play it low enough, you can't hear the music from the tee), and my most important place... TUBING/FLOATING down a river!
Now, this might sound extreme, but it works... I place my iPod Shuffle into a ziploc baggie with only the cord sticking out and wrap it as many times as possible, and zip it inside of this speaker case. Then, I put the Speaker Case into a quart size ziploc baggie (zip it shut), and then place that all into a gallon size ziploc bag (and zip that). Then, I throw it in my cooler and get it out when we start to float down the river and now we have music!
Again, this is not Bose sound quality, but it's really good, in my opinion, for $10 especially!
I've been buying this "exact" portable speaker for YEARS now! First one eventually stopped working as I think I blew the speakers, 2nd one I can't find right now, and I have to go buy this today to take on my tubing/camping trip this weekend. And, every new version they come out with better features (first one, you could only control sound from the MP3 players, and not through the system).
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS! And, best of all, if you ruin it or lose it, it's only $10 to replace!
BTW - with all my ziploc baggie approach, I've never ruined my iPod, and also don't think that the MP3 players was ever ruined. It works perfectly!

Will not fit Galaxy :-(
This is exactly what I wanted for my phone, but unfortunately did not fit. I am still giving it 5 stars. The Galaxy fit was really tight and I din't want to take a chance, so I ended up returning it. If it were just a bit taller, it would fit perfectly.
I would definitely recommend!

Great Portable Speaker!
I actually purchased this speaker through Dick's Sporting Goods, instead of Bed Bath and Beyond, but after seeing all the negative reviews, I felt compelled to help this poor little speaker case out.
The Homedics portable speaker works great. It runs on 2 AA batteries, and is easy to take with you, wherever you go. Is it Bose quality sound? No. But it costs $10! If Bose made this, it would probably cost $50, minimum. So if you are walking into this purchase expecting professional quality audio, you will be disappointed.
That being said, the sound is actually really good, all things considered. Yes, it's small. So it's not something you would use to host a dance party. It also seems to depend a lot on the volume the song was recorded at. I've noticed that some songs play very loudly, while others are more muted until you crank up the volume. But that's not the speaker"s fault. The sound is clear, and there is actually a fair amount of bass.
Overall, I have absolutely no complaints, especially not for a mere $10. You get more than you pay for.
I have one and so does my dad. Neither of us have ever had any problems with them, and I believe there is a manufacturer's warranty on them as well.
The only thing I would make mention of is the fact that the speaker case is not huge, so if you have a big mp3 player, it may not be a good fit.
In regards to using it with cell phones.... I don't really know if that was the intention of this speaker. I do know that many phones can cause interference when placed too close to speakers, and there are speakers made specifically for phones. I would suggest those speakers instead if that will be your primary use of this speaker.

Great for IPOD Shuffle
I just purchased this device and it does the trick for my IPOD shuffle. Of course it's not BOSE quality but for use in the house or bathroom or at the pool, it's great. It's absolutely worth the $9.99.
