A Terrific Little Set
I bought THREE of these for a book club dinner and couldn't be happier! Here are my tips:
1. Forget the Sterno. Don't even bother with the little contraption. Use a single tea light instead. You're not cooking in this thing, you're just keeping the cheese really warm.
2. Get a dependable fondue cheese recipe, prepare it on your stovetop, then pour it in the fondue pot.
Mine is one cup of Sauvignon Blanc brought to a boil then turned down low, add about seven ounces each of SHREDDED Sharp Cheddar, Gruyere, and Emmentaler cheese with a teaspoon of all-purpose flour tossed in. It melts beautifully and tastes great!
(The cheeses are often in 8 oz. packs. This is okay. Just use it all.)
3. Extinguish the tealight as soon as folks have finished eating. The little flame really does keep the pot and cheese plenty warm.
We used the little white twirly cups to hold olives, mini dills, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, and sliced celery and yellow bell peppers. So colorful and pretty! We also had pork tenderloin, asparagus, baby golden potatoes, and baguettes.
This was my third time preparing fondue and it was a smash hit! I don't even have the ceramic inserts. I've only ever used these sets for cheese and they work great. Use the old Boy Scout trick of putting some liquid soap on the bottom of the pot and clean up is easy.
I highly recommend this little set! It is so much fun and really easy to use. Happy Fonduing!

Not worth the price
I purchased the Stainless Steel Fondue Set for my Mom. I gave it to her Christmas morning thinking we would be dipping into cheese by early afternoon. I could Not have been more wrong. My parents had 25 people over for Christmas evening and not one person could figure out how to get the set together. It says you will need a 2.6 oz of Sterno, the Sterno can doesn't fit into the set. There are no "real" instructions, just misleading ones. It took us awhile but we are done trying and returning this "fondue set". Like my review title says it is not worth the price.

Defective Fondue Set
Purchased this item for a party and general fondue and didn't even make it past construction. The pieces for the item do not fit together and are wobbly at best when placed in the same manner the directions have it placed. And two words that should never go together are wobbly and fire. And to call them directions would be false at best. It's simply a picture with no detail on how to construct the thing. Complete waste for money. Don't buy.

IT'S A GREAT FONDUE!!! READ THIS!!!
This is a great fondue. Go to Ace and buy some fuel gel or use tealights. BB&B sells canned fuel because they fit OTHER fondues that they sell. BB&B also sells the ceramic insert for cheese or chocolate for $7.99, and it's right by the fondue in the store. Don't complain because it's not included... what do you expect for $19.99? Just print another coupon & go get it. Now you can all enjoy this great fondue!!
