More like a handheld
Quite disappointed in this product. I am/was the proud owner of many Shark products including the regular vacuum, the professional vac, cordless vac, and steam mop, loving them all. This "canister vacuum" is very small, with small attachments. I didn't realize it was going to be a handheld vac. I already have a dirt devil for that. I wish I returned the item within the given time frame, as it just collects dust.

Works for me...
I am a commercial flooring contractor and I use this in my business for smaller jobs and it has worked so well for us I am buying a couple more units today. Loads of suction and easy to tote around for any employee.

Snaggle tooth Shark
Power head does not work well for heavier cleaning (stairway carpet). The drive belt spins without turning the brush when one bears down with some pressure.

Love this little guy!
I shopped around for a few weeks for a vacuum. Back in college, small midtown apartment, didnt want anything to big or expensive, but not cheap. This Shark fits the bill perfect! Stows away easily, and has lots of power. And the lift around isn't as awkward as I thought. Kind of nice to have everything with in reach, especially with a mix of bare floors and area rugs. Hope your as happy with it as i am!
