Don't Buy :-(
I usually love oxo products and have tons of them in my house, but I truly don't believe this scoop lives up to the high oxo standards I have come to know and love. After having the scoop for a couple of months the "scoop" portion actually broke off from the handle. After further inspection I noticed that it was only held on by a small piece of plastic to begin with. I do have another oxo ice cream scoop that doesn't have the plunger function (came in my cooking utensil kit) and it has been great, but I wouldn't recommended buying this particular model.

I also received this as a wedding gift. The metal piece also broke on mine the first time I used it.

do not buy
I got this as a wedding shower gift. The slide metal piece broke off the 1st time we tried. I went to BB&B and exchanged for a new one. Worked fine when used to make cupcakes but when I tried to use it for ice cream scoop, the metal piece broke off again. I am not even going to bother with exchanging it. DO NOT buy this product.

I've had it two years and it broke in half when I was serving ice cream to two of my husband's colleagues at a dinner party. Talk about embarrassing! It did work well, but I can't recommend a product that breaks so quickly. We didn't even use it that often.
