Works well but doesn't last long
This filter works well but only for one month, which makes it a costly filter to rely on. We live in NYC, so I'm not sure if the short life of this filter is related to the water here or the filter itself just doesn't last as long as it says on the box (the box says it will last 2-3 months).

Design Flaw in otherwise great filter
My hubby had an older Pur filter that was damaged in a fire and obviously didn't work as well as before. This one works great, and I definitely notice a change in the taste of our water, even when making soup. HOWEVER....I am not a fan of their NEW and EASY one click attachment to the faucet. It isn't really necessary as I have only needed to take the filter on and off due to the design flaw. It already has a switch that allows you to use unfiltered water for washing, etc. But I wouldn't care except it leaks. A plastic washer attaches to your faucet so that the filter can grip the washer with one click. Fine. But it is plastic. After 6 months, it started leaking as the threads on the washer became stripped by the weight of the filter! Eventually, the filter just fell off whenever we turned the water on. I called the Pur phone number and one of the first options on their answering system was 'Do you need a replacement for your plastic washer?' I did, and they sent me one with a slightly different design with a metal washer that worked great... for 2 months. I now notice that although there is a metal washer that screws onto your faucet to replace the plastic one... the plastic thing on the end of the metal washer that attaches to the one click thingie on the filter is STILL attached in the same way as the original washer, by plastic threads! So it merely transferred the same problem to the fitting between the metal washer and the plastic washer. I am noticing the slow leak between the two washers and that no matter what I do, the plastic washer is hanging crookedly and unscrews itself. I wonder if they will keep sending me new washers? My guess is they will be replacing this model.

I Knew I Had to Have It - Excellent Choice
I had tried another "brand" with great disappointment: since it is stationary I often hit it and eventually cracked and leaked. Went back to a pitcher which I disliked. When I saw THE PUR I knew I had to have it. The installation is easy as is replacing the filters. The big selling point is that it swings out of the way when not in use.

Leak-free, easiest install, best faucet mount!!!!!
I usually don't review products, but I am so happy that I switched from the "other" system that I had to rate PUR with 5 stars!!! I have used the "other" faucet mounts for YEARS... They were hard to install, with leaks... So glad I tried the PUR. One step easiest install and absolutely NO LEAKS! The switch to change to filtered water is wonderful (I had to use two hands with the "other" system, and it was so hard to turn), turns effortlessly and THE WATER TASTES FANTASTIC. I recommend this to everyone!
