Real value
I love classic things that are well made, do what they're supposed to do, are easy to take care of, go with any style, and look good. And being a good price--well, that's almost too good to be true.
These jars are all of the above. In a world of fakes, marketing hype and expensive c___--I say thank you to Anchor Hocking; and I recommend we buy these good things to keep good companies in business! I have 6 of these jars on a kitchen shelf, and I'm buying more.

Mostly pleased
I've always appreciated the quality of AH glass, but like the above reviewer states, the lids are disappointing. Rubber-ringed lids would be far better than barely-attached coated paperboard. The aluminum is also fairly thin and flimsy--seems as if it could easily get bent out of shape if dropped or other dishes are on top of it in the sink. I wish AH would make their lids as high quality as their glass (I have issues with the plastic lids on baking dishes also. I never put them in the dishwasher or microwave, yet several have started to crack.) I purchased two of these and am satisfied. They were very well packed (multiple layers of bubble wrap). The shipping took much longer than I expected it would, though. I live in the same state from which they were shipped, yet it took the full number of days (8) to reach me. I would not recommend these for people with arthritis or those having difficulty grasping things. They are heavy, especially when filled, and not easy to grasp.

Nice Practical Display Statement
I really like the look & size of 6 one gallon jars lined up together on my counter with various ingredients on display. I wish the liners in the tops were rubber versus waxed cardboard, but not a deal breaker & would have been 5 stars otherwise. My original shipment arrived quickly & very well packed but with one broken jar. BB&B arranged a replacement with no problems or delay. Highly recommend.
