Best I have ever used
We have this blender at work. We use it to puree residents food and mix smoothies for breakfast. When you turn it on it sucks down then up and down then up so that way it gets every little bit. Its amazing. I would recommend this for sure and I would love to have this in my home. A girls best friend!

So Disappointed
I've had this for a few months and love it! UNTIL.... I noticed the screw in the middle of the blade had rust forming around it! I'm returning it today but completely disappointed. I've purchased many KitchenAid products and now I have second thoughts. The last thing I want is the food I consume to be contaminated with rust!

What an upgrade!
I had a blender for many years that burnt out and it was time for a new one. I read so many review only to find myself confused. I had a good feeling about the Kitchen Aid because I have a Kitchen Aid Mixer like so many people. Here is what I like about my new purchase. The one piece construction is efficient and easy to clean. I really feel the power is put where it's supposed to be bc of this construction design. The buttons are easy to use. It looks great in my kitchen. The pitcher is lighter than glass but so far seems very durable. Nice size pitcher too. Comfortable handle and smoothies poor easily. Basically I love my new blender and just hope it holds up.

Don't purchase for smoothies
Terrible for making smoothies, especially for single serve. After coming home from the gym I wanted to conveniently create a smoothie 8-16 oz. A simple couple minute blend turns into a half hour project. I would start the blend and all the contents would either get pushed to the side and the blade spins blending nothing but air. Or all the content would rise up creating an air pocket around the blades and again the blades spin and blend nothing but air. I constantly have to stop open the lid push content back to the center and repeat until I get the consistency I'm looking for. Actually I never achieve that consistency. For instance strawberry seeds never gets pulverized.
I've tried adding more liquid, but the amount needed to actually prevent air pockets resulted in making the smoothie too diluted and bland.
I've sampled smoothies from Vitamix and would love to have that consistency but the price tag is a bit heavy for me. I was hoping this product could of been an alternative but it's definitely not.
