great can-opener for the price
I purchased this can-opener about 5 years ago.I didn't want to spend alot of money. This can-opener is still the same price I paid back then. This opener is not plastic as one other person had stated. It's black with a chrome-metal opener that has a top push button release for easy cleaning. It's easy to use and once you lock on your can, will open automatically without holding your can. Yes it can tip when opening super large cans like a 5lb can of tomatoes but if you bring it to the edge of your counter and lock it on just hold your hand on the bottom of the can and it will rotate and open very easily. Also can-openers don't splash when their done it's the level of fluid your product is packed in. If you want to spend $50 or more dollars on one that might be alittle neater go ahead and try to find one. Bottom line this one works great.

Hate hate hate this can opener
I've had this can opener for over 3 years now, and I hate it. Why? 1) It has trouble getting into position & then slicing into the can to start. 2) Once it starts, it's fine, but it jerks at the end (hence sloshing liquids all over the counter. Fun!) 3) You have to hold big cans (like the 28 or 35 oz cans of crushed tomatoes). From experience, it WILL tip over if you don't hold it 4) On occasion, the delightful little magnet holding the can lid comes off the part it's supposed to be attached to, and falls into your can of food. Overall, this thing sucks and it's cheap for a reason.

LOVE this can opener!
Performs exactly like it should, easy to remove cutting mechanism for cleaning, easy-wipe surface, love the top-grabber magnet too! AND it was a great price!

Good purchase
The can opener works very well for the cost. I was disappointed that the chrome looking handle to run it is really plastic. Otherwise a good value for the money.
