Yes, they're adjustable!
Sheets accommodate mattresses up to 18" and my mattress is only 12", therefore I have loose-fitting sheets; not on the length but on the sides. I used these straps on my king-sized bed, placing them across the width and now my sheets stay nice and tight, holding perfectly in place now. The package should be labeled "adjustable." No where on the package does it show the strap adjustment and the picture only shows the straps being used head-to-toe. It should show the straps going from left-to-right in addition to top-to-bottom. I bought them, knowing if they didn't work I could return them, and they worked great.

Almost Really Good
These straps are a pretty good quality but the clips could use improvement. They are not a very high quality and are difficult to secure. BBB should carry the Sheet Suspenders brand. I purchased a set from them a while back and can compare the two brands. SS uses much better materials for the clips. I'm a fan of BBB and would encourage them to change brands.

Smoothers do work
Unlike some of the other reviews on this product, we have used them for years with success and NO INJURIES. These are elastic straps with clips on each end that attach to the bed sheet and/or mattress pad to maintain a smoother appearance, hence the name. We have never encountered a snap back as has been warned by another reviewer. Used with common sense and properly, these work...they're just a little too pricey.
