Dyson DC24 Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum
This ultra lightweight vacuum for all floors uses the patented RootCyclone technology that separates dirt from the air by centrifugal force. Its clear bin is made of tough polycarbonate and lets you see when it needs emptying, which you do by simply pressing a button, never coming in contact with the dust. The washable lifetime HEPA filter is designed to trap microscopic allergens, such as pollen and bacteria, and expels cleaner air. The Ball technology steers smoothly with a turn of the wrist, gliding into awkward spaces that are usually missed. It weighs in at 11.6-pounds, and has a handle that compresses to store in tight places. Also features a reversible wand, a motorized brushbar that removes dirt and pet hair from carpets, and fingertip brush control. Includes a combination accessory tool. UL listed. 5-year warranty. Model # 00158. Dyson proves no loss of suction using the IEC 60312 Cl 2.9 test standard.

Not Worth The $$$
Never Loses Suction????
ALWAYS LOSES SUCTION !!!!
In three years have made multiple calls to customer service, have taken step by step instructions to reset it, take it apart, check for obstructions. I can't vacuum 2 small rooms without losing suction. I have replaced parts, and sent it in for service.
Customer service reps just insist on resetting it. Do you want to go through this everytime you vacuum?
Had to stay on phone for half an hour insisting to speak to a supervisor.
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!

DC 24
I have never written a review before but here goes. I do like the DC 24 and the way it picks up the dog and cat hair plus the dirt on all my floors both the carpet and tile. It does a wonderful job. The first time I ever used a Dyson was at my daughters but found that a full sized machine was a little too heavy so when this came out I decided to try it - I really like it. Only two problems that I have found with it - one the cord is way too short and then once about every three to four times of emptying the bin - it releases all the dirt back on the the carpet before I can get the canister off the main portion of the machine. However, I still like it and am considering a canister type Dyson now.

Brush Bar - Poor quality and design
I finally convinced my husband to buy premium vacuum cleaner and then to have it perform worse than the cheap ones is a big disappointment. The brush bar on the machine stops working all the time. The FAQ basically tells you to take it apart which got it working again but how practical is that? I feel as if I was a victim of the hype. Egg on my face.

In Love - even after 5 years!
I have had my DC24 Multi-Floor Dyson Ball since Dec 2008, (that's a little over 5 years!) and it is still my favorite cleaning tool after all these years. From experience, I can tell you it is definitely worth the investment. This quality machine is built to last, and not only that, it is truly the best vacuum I have ever used!
Other vacuums are heavy/cumbersome, clog easily, the bag is nasty and you never want to clean it out, or they have the bucket that never stays locked in place, and you have to keep stopping because it seems like it is never working right. You know what I'm talking about.
Enter the DC24. This vacuum is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and extremely easy to clean. It's compact size makes it easy to transport. It only takes a few moments to switch from an upright to using the hose/attachment which I find very useful for furniture and even cleaning the hard to reach places in my car floorboards.
As a college student, I've lived several different places, and let me tell you, this vacuum really is for all floor types. Carpets, hard wood, tile, linoleum, you name it -- it can handle it! I like use it in the kitchen instead of sweeping and it makes cleaning the floors so much faster. It never loses suction or power and cleans up twice as well as other vacuums I've used. No more repeat swipes over the same pesky place.
Lastly, as a designer myself, I love when form meets function. This product is beautifully designed and exudes quality that is hard to come by in today's market place. Great buy!

It's really a simple engineering principal. Four fixed wheels like to go in straight lines, where as a ball can move in any direction. So a clear choice. Easy turns with minimal effort, or do it the old fashioned way. |
