Money Extremely well-spent
If you are looking for a quicker method for cooking long-grain rice, this is not it. However, if like me you can think of better things to do for 20 minutes than minding the rice, this is the device for you. I've made rice and steamed vegetables both with fantastic results. I am looking forward to cooking pasta with it. Directions are precise and easily understood. I highly recommend it for yourself or a gift!!!

Wonderful product
I love rice but I live in a small apartment with no room for a rice cooker and I don't have enough time to keep an eye out when trying to get it right on the stove. Yes it had a bit of a plastic smell when I opened the box, but hey, it's plastic. I washed it and it made the best sushi rice. I'm trying the pasta tonight.

very disappointed
so I made a special trip yesterday to bbb just to get this rice cooker so I could make cauliflower rice for my lo carb diet. I take it out of the box tonight and there are filthy black fingerprints all over it and it has a VERY strong plastic smell. I scrubbed this thing in the hottest water and prepared to cook my caulifower rice in here. HORRIBLE! JUST HORRIBLE! the cauliflower texture came out good but the smell of plastic when I opened the lid was tremendous... I then took a bite of the cauliflower and it tasted like plastic. I feel like the chinese are tryinng to poison us with this junk they are making. I really really wanted to like this but back it goes. it's gross.

waste of money
I purchased this item in December 2012. I followed the cooking chart precisely with the appropriate microwave. Rice was hard as a rock! Tried more time and water, I TRIPLED the time and water with no better result! I have emailed the distributor, and they keep sending me a pdf of the instructions that CAME with it. Despite telling them clearly that their included instructions DON'T WORK!
