Don't, just don't
I got this cleaner for my wedding and the very first time I used it it stopped spraying. I would have to turn it off, wait a couple minutes, then turn it back on and it would spray for maybe 60 seconds, at which point I'd have to repeat the entire process. Cleaning a 10'x10' area took three and a half hours. I even tore down the entire thing to make sure there were no clogs (there weren't) and when I put it back together it kept doing the exact same thing. If you search the internet and YouTube you'll see lots of people have issues with this and similar Bissell machines. I'm returning it to the store today after work and getting a Hoover.

Saves me thousands of dollars
We own a pet friendly vacation home and have been having our carpets professionally cleaned on the average about 3 times a year. Each time the company comes out to do the carpets and rugs, it costs us about $1000!! I recently bought this vacuum and am so impressed!!!! Now we use it about every 6 weeks and can save on the professional cleaning. It is a godsend! Thanks Bissell!!!

Good Deal
I did alot of research before buying this steam cleaner. I've used several different kinds. The primary reason I like this one is that it's the only one of this size that will heat up the water. None of the others do. I also like that there is only one tank--this has a "bladder" inside the tank--clean water inside the bladder, and the dirty water goes outside of it. I know that sounds weird, but other steam cleaners I've tried have two tanks, one for dirty water and one for the clean water/solution. Those--I HATE. If you don't line the tanks up just perfectly, it wont' work, or it will leak badly. I would never buy a 2 tank steam cleaner.
As for the size----I clean carpets about once a month due to owning pets and having family with asthma/allergies. You have to empty/refill the tank just a bit more, but that's really the only difference between this and the larger one. For the extra $$ I can walk to the kitchen sink a couple more times. And that's only if I'm doing the whole house---one tank is plenty for doing a couple of bedrooms.
