OXO Good Grips® Digital Leave-In Meat Thermometer
This digital leave-in meat thermometer is the ideal tool for cooking roasts and poultry to perfection. The digital display dually functions as a thermometer and 24-hour timer, and it is angled for optimal viewing on the counter with a large LCD screen. Simply insert the probe into the meat and run the cable outside the oven door to easily monitor what's cooking. The thermometer provides the option of selecting USDA or chef recommended temperatures for all types of meat, poultry and fish, and will signal when the preferred temperature is reached. In addition, a 10-degree warning alert helps prevent overcooking. When not in use, the thermometer probe fits easily into the display and the cord wraps around the base for compact storage. Measures 7 3/4" L. Two AAA batteries included.

disappointed
Liked the idea of this having recommended temps - USDA & chef. Thought the brand name and cost would make for a good product. Unfortunately not the case. Had to remove batteries after each use or replace them the next time. Then it just stopped working. Expected better quality. Would be ideal if it lasted longer and batteries could be left in. Needs tweaking.

Don't waste your money
Bought this to use for Christmas 2012, was cooking a prime rib I set the temperature to 135 degrees. Put the meat in oven with the thermometer, not even in oven 5 minutes it started beeping telling me I had 10 degrees more and it was done.
Used my instant read thermometer meat was not done until 2 hrs. later.
Will be returning this item this week.

Waste of money
Very disappointed it worked a few times and then just stopped and never worked again. It was just a couple months old but had not kept my receite so could not take back. Would have given 0 stars if I could.

Tip quality, and, not exactly tip product...
Right on the first month of using it the digital screen stared to show problems, like fade reading, and battery never lasted more than one single use. Every time I would use the thermometer again, the battery was gone. Now, after less then 6 months only, it completely stopped working. I like my meat perfectly cooked, so this would be a good tool if it worked. Now I'll try another brand.
