Not for me
I ordered this thinking it would work well to meet my need for grinding coffee now and then, but the grinder handle was difficult to use, taking more strength than I wanted to expend for very little ground coffee --the box itself seemed to hold less than the 1/3 cup stated on website and it spilled over. It is attractive and true to description of " Retro" look, but grade for function is C-. So buy it for decorative retro look (if that is what you want), but don't buy if you are looking for ground coffee in a simple expedient way -- get the electric instead.

It Grinds the Coffee Beans...
It does Grind the coffee beans, however, you will work your arm off to get the grinds! Once you get going and the momentum is there, you are good to go; getting started is a challenge. The one real critique we have about this Grinder is that it is not heavy at all. I spend more arm energy attempting to keep the Coffee Grinder on the table than I do grinding the coffee. This would get 4-5 stars if it had some sort of weighted bottom, or table attachment option.

It grinds coffee
We thought that even if this did not do a good job of grinding coffee, it would be an attractive addition to our counter top. Fortunately, it grinds coffee. Instead of the attractive brown shown in the photo, ours is almost black, but not quite. If it were truly black, or the brown as shown, it would look a lot better.
As far as grinding coffee, it works. The only problem is the very small container for the grounds. If you fill the top with beans, and grind them all, then you will have a mess. The little drawer only holds enough grounds for about two cups. So, the procedure is grind a little, dump the grounds, grind a little, dump, etc., etc.
If these shortcomings are not a problem for you, then we can give a (weak) recommendation.
