Good blender
I use this to blend fruit and vegetables into juice. That's all I've used it for so far. So I don't know about the other stuff. But the power of this blender makes it worth it for me. I've only had regular blenders in the past and they cannot do what this one does with all the power and speed. I just blended 2 oranges, 2 grapefruits, flax seed, and chia seeds and blended everything for about 1 min. I didn't really cut up anything. I just used the stick to swirl things about a bit. It blended everything pretty darn fine. The thing about chia seeds is that they are tiny and they have to be chewed on to break the skin to be digestible. And they are a pain to chew with teeth. But the VM did a fine job of chopping nearly every chia seed in the smoothie. That alone for me is worth it. The fruits came out very smooth.

Can't Live Without
For 1 year now I have used my Vitamix every day of the week even taking it on vacation with me and it works just like the first time I used it. I love this product!

Not worth the money
Not worth the price tag! I expected a lot more. You have to stop blending at least every 5 sec to stir. I had to do the same thing with my $20 & $80 blenders. By the time I'm done blending my arm hurts! Such a pain. I expected to be able to just turn it & have it blend my food. For almost $400 I expected that! Aside from having to constantly stop & stir, it does make foods, even seeds, smooth & creamy. But you can probably get the same results from a less expensive blender.

amazing
super easy to use, easy to clean
blends through anything
we calculated that it's 6 times stronger than our garbage disposal
it comes with a great recipe booklet. first time i used it i made the peach sorbet and for several days straight that is all i made-- i had houseguests and they kept requesting more sorbet. best part is, it's super quick. i can make it in the vitamix in 2 minutes after dinner for a fresh dessert. just have to remember to always have enough ice on hand.
haven't yet tried making soup, but the recipe booklet says you don't even have to then cook the soup-- leave the vitamix running for 5-6 minutes and the food will get hot on friction alone.
