Waste of money
Gave myself the machine as a Xmas present. It worked well for little over a year. Suddenly it started to make loud pumping noises and soon there was no pressure. There are no repairs shops to be found and the best the distributor can do is provide an 800 number in California.
I recommend you look elsewhere. I will, I need my expresso.

Breville BES830XL
This is the 2nd machine we have tried, both the same exact make and model. We thought the first may have been just a fluke. It worked for around 2 months and then just started making weird noises and then quit altogether. We decided to get another one because we did like the features and really thought it may have been just a lemon that we purchased. Bed, bath and beyond was awesome they gave us no hassles on the exchange. The 2nd one has never worked properly. The espresso continues to come out until you press the button to make it stop. So, if you are making lunches or other morning activities and let your eyes off the machine for a bit....you have a coffee cup full of espresso!!! We have had it only a couple weeks ago and now the steamer does not work at all. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Somewhat disappointed
Espresso brewing is fine however steamer is quite slow, programming is not reliable, and water consumption and waste. Leaks at the brew head while steamng and also thru hot water dispensor. To make six double shots, the machine uses 85% of the water supply. Purchased unit 32 days ago and hope nothing else becomes a problem. This is the second Breville I have owned and the same issues have been passed on to the newer unit. If you get the correct grind you'll never have problems with plugging in the dual wall filter.

Wonderful Machine
I love this espresso machine. You couldn't hope for a better espresso machine at this price point especially if you use your 20% coupon. I have extensive experience working on large Italian machines, and while I could never afford one of those for my home, I still wanted a machine that made a good product and felt substantial. The portafilter has a nice heft and doesn't feel like a toy. You can set it on the counter and it sits up straight and doesn't tip over like some others. There is a huge difference in the quality of the drinks produced with this machine compared to my old $100 machine. The espresso is smoother, creamier, and tastes better and the froth is thicker and less airy. You do need to warm up the portafilter and filter first thing in the morning which isn't a big deal. Once that first cup is extracted the machine is nice and hot and you no longer need to pre-heat those parts. The one shot or two shot automatic settings are great. You can start the espresso flowing just like a big machine and get your saucers or add-ins ready at the same time. No need to stand there and watch and then manually stop the extraction process. I take great pride in this quality machine and therefore felt compelled take the time to write a review.
