Excellent scale
This is my first scale but I have to say, I don't think you'll find anything better...especially for the price. I am constantly amazed at how little I knew about food and measurements. Anyone looking to watch their calorie intake must buy this scale.
As far as the previous comments go- I will say it does shut off pretty quickly which can be annoying but it's really not too much of a hassle.
It does start up using Grams but again not a huge deal since lots of foods go by grams on the packaging. I use myfitnessapp and when I search for foods it sometimes uses grams as well. Either way it doesn't take much to push one button to change it to weigh in ounces.
Bottom line- great purchase and amazing price.

Required purchase for portion control!
This digital scale works great for me. One button toggle from grams to ounces. Easy to "zero" out with a plate or serving bowl. The Stainless steel detachable top protects and serves as a nice platform as I rarely use the glass. The battery life seems good 3 months in. The use of a food scale truly opens your eyes with regard to portion size. I would buy this scale again.

Other comments are valuable
I have had this product for several years and agree with both the positive and negative comments.
Positive:
Very accurate
I like the tare function and use it very often
I like that it measures up to 11 pounds (and rarely would need any heavier measurement)
It is very nice looking and is easy to keep on the kitchen counter
It is easy to keep clean
Negative:
I would like the option of it staying on longer
I would like the option of having it start in the pounds/ounces feature as I rarely use the grams feature.
I don't like that every time I use it I have to adjust it to the pounds/ounces scale.
I would purchase another scale except for the fact that they might have the same negative features and I would not know until after I purchased it.

Great product!
We have one of these scales in both of our kitchens in our primary home and now I want one for our beach house. My 11 year old grandson and I make cookies and weigh the dough so the cookies will bake evenly and we have no problems with the scale turning off as others have mentioned nor do we have a problem with it reverting from grams to ounces while we're in the process of making our cookies. My husband uses the other scale when he makes sour dough bread in the kitchen downstairs and he really likes the scale, too. I highly recommend this kitchen scale!
