THIS PRODUCT IS DANGEROUS
The temperature of the surface of the unit and the stored water pose a hazard to children during use and to adults when cleaning or filling the water tank. I can only testify to this after personally being scalded. Additionally, it is just LOUD.

Ehhh - worked for two years - now malfunctioning
I bought the HM5080 which is an older version of this. Same shape, same controls.
First year was fine. 2nd year the soft, rubbery valve gave way and occasionally the unit - on a level surface - would leak considerably.
Now, it won't work. It turns on but the Reset light came on and it won't reset. So it is effectively dead.
It's cheap and works well for a while, and then it doesn't. I'd like things to last quite a bit longer than they do! Am I really asking too much?

Great Product
This is my first warm mist humidifier and I love it. The directions for cleaning is lame. Super easy to clean. My husband has commented on how great it is. We are both sleeping better. Buying second unit for my office. Here in the desert we really need this humidifier. Our winter/spring is extremely dry and this little guy is working great. The little noise it makes heating the water actually helps me sleep.

DANGER! GETS WAY TOO HOT!
I bought this a few days ago. I have two other warm mist humidifiers and needed one for my son's room. The base of this unit got so hot that when I touched it, I flinched and pulled my hand away because it was so hot. I personally felt it was a potential fire hazard. I immediately unplugged it and am returning it to the store.
