out of the box surprised...
This being my first tower fan and me being a noble customer of Vornado, purchased this beast (alot bigger than I expected) was impressed with it's performance and the appearance even my guests like how it have curved lines to how it displaces so much air. it is not exactly quiet but I would say ninja quiet on speeds 1,2,3 on speed 4 you notice... but it in not intrusive or bothersome it will be a speed you would want to quickly lower the room temp then switch to a diffrent speed it is very sturdy no rattle or shake from almost daily running overall I am impressed by the tower fan and suprised Vornado going tower, but the amount of effort and customer service they put into it why not? good job guys...

Best Fan EVER!!!!
This fan is amazing! I have since bought a second fan for my living room as well as the one for my bedroom. The fan is quiet enough for nighttime use but also can push enough air to keep my apartment which has terrible, almost non-existent A/C cool even throughout the summer months. I did experience a small hardware problem after about a year that caused squeaking while the fan was on lower speeds. However, I was blown away when I e-mailed customer care about the problem and to find out how to receive a replacement under the fans *FIVE YEAR* warranty. They just had me send a photo of the fan with the serial number and a photo of the cut-off power cord and they overnighted me a brand new one! I didn't even have to go through the trouble of shipping back the old fan. Amazing fan, amazing customer care. Vornado is my brand of choice for all of the products it carries for sure!

Love it... but...
We've had our 184 tower for just under a year and it has been amazing. Unfortunately, just this past week it has started clicking and/or squeaking if we have it on speeds 1 or 2. I haven't gotten in touch with vornado about my warranty yet, so I'm hoping that we can get the fan repaired/replaced fairly quickly and painlessly. If we are able to this fan would get a 5 star rating.
