Oster® Beehive Blender
Beehive Blender has a classic toggle switch which controls two speeds and 600 watts of power. It's got every blending possibility covered, from frozen drinks to dips, from sauces to smoothies, from soup to nuts. The large capacity, 6-cup glass jar has been Thermal Shock tested so you can pull it out of a steamy dishwasher and safely make a frosty cold beverage right away. There's a stainless steel ice crusher blade so you get smooth frozen drinks every time. Because the two pieces that connect on the blender are metal instead of plastic, you get a more durable and longer-lasting blender that will function flawlessly, party after party, year after year. Blender provides amazing performance and distinguished looks. One-year warranty. UL listed.

You get what you pay for
I was looking for a chrome blender to match my other countertop appliances (so many of the "silver", "stainless" or "metallic" finishes are too matte for my taste). From the pictures, this looked perfect. However, the finish is not really chrome. I haven't been able to find a nice looking one for a decent price, though, so I may end up keeping it. I've used it twice, and both times I've smelled a smoky, burning-plastic odor. My husband claims this is a "new blender smell" and will pass. Functionally the blender works great, I've made a shake and a smoothie using ice with minimal trouble. Its definitely not magical, you have to put the right amount of liquid in for the ice to crush, but my old white Cuisinart blender was way worse.

Works well, makes a lot of noise
We received this as a wedding present. It is a very sold and nice looking blender that gets the job done, but as other reviewers have mentioned, it is LOUD. Other than that, it works great!

Another Oster Disappointment
I'm so confused why this blender has such good reviews on here. I purchased this blender last week b/c it had such rave reviews here, however I am very disappointed with the outcome. Both my husband and I attempted to make fruit smoothies this morning using only small chunks of fruit and milk. And both times it didn't blend. The motor was very loud and created a weird smell while using. The jar never really felt secure on the base. The blender produced a substance that was neither slush or liquid, but rather large mushy chunks. It simply just never pulled anything to the bottom where the blades are. The blades spun like crazy, but never touched a thing. This is my second Oster blender, the first one was not the beehive, and both have been highly dysfunctional and disappointing. Don't waste your money on an Oster.

good smoothie maker
I gave it four stars, not 5, because sometimes I have fiddle around with the machine to get it started. But it makes delicious smoothies, does a good job.
