Not practical at all
The top being slotted for the water to drain from the bar of soap is, of course, good. But, there is no way to clean the base where the soap water has drained. That is not even close to practical! Who wants a soap dish where only the top portion can be cleaned? What I do is cover the top with the piece of aluminum foil and put my bar of soap on the foil. When company comes, I toss out the foil but instruct them not to use the bar of soap. A top that lifts off for cleaning would be wonderful. They definitely need to go back to the drawing board on this one.
