Worst espresso machine Right from the get go it was problems. We figured out to make it grind coffee by moving the beans manually. The constant trouble light when there was no problem should have been a clue, finally after a month it shut down and no matter what we did it would not reset. With factory support we tried to reset the machine with no luck, the tech slipped and said oh yes they are very fussy machines.... Well lets see 900 dollars and it lasted one month. It's going back to BBB and we won't waste our time with another DeLonghi. May 17, 2013
THIS model won't grind beans So sad. I had a Delonghi Magnifica for 5 years and it was fantastic and then started to leak out the water container so I bought the new DeLonghi Magnifica XS (above) and right from the start the beans wouldn't always grind, they would make a sound but water would result not coffee. We had to manually push the beans down. I called DeLonghi and customer service said it doesn't like dark roast beans with any oil or Starbucks beans because it clogs it. WOW, we use both! Then she said it was a broken grinder and it would have to go to a service center for repair and she wasn't sure how long the repair would take. I'm taking it back to Bed Bath and Beyond but not sure what I should do about trying another one or going with a different brand. My husband loved the old one. February 18, 2013
Awful products I didnt believe the review the other person said about the product not working from the start....Then my product came in the mail (after my other magnifica of 1.5 yrs broke)...it was like christmas for a child. I opened it, very well packaged...plugged it in following the instructions - nothing...read through the instructions again...nothing. Kept trying and trying...nothing. Does it really take an hour to set up a coffee maker? Next day I call delonghi..."keep trying". IT sounds like the pump is going to break, like there is a blockage. Delonghi tells me they will send me a box and I can send it in and they will fix it. No replacement, no temporary...you're just supposed to wait a month or whatever to get it fixed...Customer service showed zero sympathy. I have family coming for christmas, now no coffee maker. I will take this back to BBB and I know they have awesome customer service and will help me out. BELIEVE THIS>>>NEVER EVER EVER BUY FROM DELONGHI UNLESS YOU WANT A LOT OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND PROBLEMS December 20, 2012
bad news I bought the DeLonghi Magnifica, got home, set it up, and watched the video. The video was in French and the dialogue box would not honor the click to revert to English. Useless. We started the machine and it would not work -- would not prime, all the warning lights were on, repeatedly followed trouble-shooting recommendations. No luck. The next day 57 minutes on the phone with customer service finally said send it in and they would fix it and send us a reconditioned machine. Sorry, this is new and didn't work out of the gate. Sorry, came the response, but that is our policy. Returned the machine to a helpful BB&B manager at for a full refund. DO NOT BUY DeLonghi, at least not at the low and middle ends of their range. Junk machine, useless CD, uninformed customer service, and bad policy. November 21, 2012
