great at getting dirt up from the carpets
I bought this because I have 2 dogs and 1 cat and because the vacuum has "pet" in the title. I bought this vacuum because my other one stopped working after only a year of owning it and boy that one was horrible. It clogged up all the time and which this has not clogged since buying it. The febreeze filter leaves a trail of air freshener scent behind you making your house smell great. When I emptied the canister, there was an inch of dirt in the bottom. I wonder how much dirt I was breathing in because my last vacuum obviously wasn't getting any of it up.

Love it!
I have 3 Laborador Retrievers and I was up to my chin in hair. Love my dogs, but don't love their hair. I love this vacuum! It has great suction and you don't have to buy bags. It has an attachment for furniture as well. It's lightweight, too. The first time I vacuumed my area rug I was in shock. The amount of hair I vacuumed up looked like a small dog! I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone with pets.

Not worth the money
I have a golden retriever, and allergies. So I was willing to spend a decent penny on a good vacuum. I upgraded to this vacuum from a dirt devil and boy was I disappointed. The canister is the biggest problem. It's just poorly designed. to empty the bin, you have to pull out the middle portion and all the dust or hair that gets stuck around the top filter thing falls out onto the floor or onto the vacuum itself. And I vacuum daily, empty the bin after each room, and still have it go flying. I'd understand if I let the bin get overly stuffed with hair and dirt, but I don't.
The vacuum attachments are great, and the hose and cord are a good length. I really liked how the hose just popped out of the base to use the attachments. I just can't believe it only lasted maybe three months before I had a serious loss of suction, despite cleaning out the vacuum regularly and the vacuum was basically useless after 6 months of use.
I also thought that having four filters that need to be washed regularly was a bit of a joke since when you empty the bin the dust and what not go everywhere no matter what you do...
