I think I finally found it!!
Awesome, Hot, Hot, Hot Delicious Coffee. Ok, so I have tried every coffee pot imaginable, every make, every model, High, low, and middle Priced. I have finally found a coffee maker that makes HOT coffee!! And it doesn't take all day!! Only 7 minutes for 10 cups!! And it tastes delicious!! Yes the lid must have space to open, as with most all Cuisinart makers, so I bought me a Coffee Cab to use with this coffee maker so it wheels out from under the counter while I add the water and coffee, and back under it goes. It works beautifully, no spills, no hassles getting the water in the machine. I have hunted high and low for a coffee pot with enough wattage to brew hot and flavorful coffee that doesn't taste like bitter coffee grinds, the 1400 Watts in this maker is the key!! If you want HOT Smooth Delicious tasting coffee this one is IT!!

Worst coffee maker EVER
SLOW SLOW SLOW and very poorly designed - carafe does not pour straight, spills water when filling the reservoir - at least a cup of the 12 it holds. Never buy this coffee maker - total waste of money. Who needs to be frustrated before even having the first cup?

Not as good as previous model
I owned the less expensive programmable model for 10 years and was happy with it until the burner went out. I decided to upgrade to this model, but soon found that it was not an upgrade, despite the higher cost.
Problems, lid does not lift over 90 degrees making it hard to fill with the carafe. Burner does not have a L, M, & H setting. Every time I remove the carafe to pour coffee, the machine grumbles when I return the carafe to the burner, like I just turned it on. This must reduce the life cycle of the machine?
