This cutting board is wonderful!!! I'm not sure what the smell is the other reviews mentioned; mine did not have one. I washed it with hot water and applied mineral oil to the bamboo surfaces as soon as it arrived (and apply more as needed between cleanings) and I have never noticed any kind of odor. The board does not slide around while cutting or chopping, and I can pound meat without it lifting off the counter. I love the storage drawers for different items. It is so covenient to slide food into the drawers after chopping/slicing different items and then pulling them out to dump the food into a pan--great for stir fry, etc. You can slice meat, fruit, vegetables and cheese, put some on top of the board with crackers and have extra in the drawers ready to put out as they're needed. I also noticed that the drawers stay put in their slots in the board when I turn it over to wipe it off. I love this cutting board so much that I bought one for my daughters; they love it also!! I've owned many cutting boards over the years and this one far exceeds those--you'll love it!

Clean design, well made.
I own one of these and I wanted to step in and remark how nicely this is made. I worked at a competitor of BBB for 10 years, and I have handled a lot of kitchen cutting boards. This one is exceptionally nice, great quality. I have never seen anything like it around, with the organizer drawers beneath, This is a lifesaver for those with not a lot of counter space. I noticed some of the reviews mentioned a smell--not sure what that's about, mine is "unscented". Nice wood cutting boards will last you a lifetime if you take care of them properly (no water soaking, mineral oil (only!!!) occasionally), so I would consider this a no-brainer investment for someone looking for a nice wedding gift, or just a really clean-look contemporary piece for their own kitchen.

Awesome product
Just got for bday and love it. Beautiful enough to use for serving at a party, as well as cutting and chopping for everyday use. Very sturdy, well made and extremely practical. Don't have a lot of storage space and this fits in my cabinets very nicely. Highly recommend.

Smells rancid
I've been a member of Quirky for quite a while and am one of the people who make money when Mocubo sells. I bought a bunch of them right away to increase my share of the profits. I was also shocked at how awful they smelled when I opened one. The oil, whatever kind they used was rancid or laden with some chemicals. I contacted Quirky and they just said to wash it. They weren't concerned in the least. The smell was so foul that I also decided it wasn't usable and when Quirky didn't care, I just chucked the lot of them. I still get money when one sells.
I had hoped the problem would have been fixed by now but it doesn't appear that it has. Fortunately BB&B will stand behind the sale even if Quirky won't fix the problem.
