Soehnle bath scale
This scale was a gift to my husband and is very sleek and handsome looking in the bathroom. However, it requires good light to function. Therefore one cannot weigh in the evening or anytime after dark. Even artificial light doesn't work . Very frustrating!! I would not recommend this scale to anyone who wants to weigh before bedtime!!!

Nice scale; doesn't work in my bathroom
I bought this based on some reviews that said it would operate in low light situations, but I guess there's a limit to what works. I even put it in a lighted area but if it was dark when I wanted to use it, it wouldn't weigh me, even if it sat in the light all day. I had to send it back.

Solar technology, for better and worse.
Stylish and sturdy scale, looks great in contemporary area, reasonable cost, no batteries to worry about, cleans easily. Reliable (measures the same each time), but sensitivity probably no better than 0.2 pound. Measures in pounds, kilograms or stones (!) Being solar, will not function in dark environment. Sunlight or artificial light will activate within ~60 seconds. Tiny blinking icon signals readiness to weigh. Teaches a lesson in solar technology: if the sun doesn't shine, then it's 'no tickee, no laundry.'

Soehnle Solar Scale
The scale is sleek looking, and functions all right if you have it in the right area. However, it doesn't work on carpet and all our bathrooms are carpeted, and this is where we use a scale. It also easily slips into kilograms or some other weight measure from pounds, as there is a button on the bottom (which always switches if on carpet).( I know I weigh more than 9 ounces). Another bad feature, the digital numbers are so skinny, with less than perfect eyesight, I can't read them from my 5'2" height. If you have tile floors and good eyesight, it's fine.
