Love this fountain!
This was a Christmas gift given to my 9-year old dog from my sister. I don't think my dog really cared about the fountain. She just wanted water. The fountain keeps the water moving in the bowl, and food and hair residue is sucked into the filter, so the water stays fresher and bacteria doesn't build up in the bowl as quickly throughout the day. That has to be healthier than a regular bowl. I just got an 8-week old puppy last month and she took to the fountain right away. With two dogs, the motor and filter have to be cleaned weekly, but the water reservoir only has to be filled every three or four days instead of two times a day as with regular bowls. The puppy also thinks it is her own personal wading pool... so cute (messy, but cute).

Works great!!
We bought this around Christmas and absolutely love it. Our 1 cat took to it right away. Our younger one warmed up to it after about 3 weeks. It circulates the water nicely and doesn't make a lot of noise. Would definitely recommend.

Given as a gift at my Bridal Shower... LOVE IT!
Our dogs love the pet fountain. They started drinking from it right away, and like the water noises the fountain makes. It is very easy to clean and maintain.
As long as you read the directions for setup, which are fairly easy, the fountain should run great.
We like this product so much we are considering buying the Animal Planet Programmable Food product as well!

Animal Planet Pet fountain
I had a bit of trouble at first understanding how to assemble it - but once I got it set up all of my cats started using it right away and they really like it. I am getting a second one because it does take some cleaning to keep it going - and with 3 fuzzy faces getting hair into the bowl - well, you can figure it out - I wanted to clean the bowl in the dishwasher so I'll put one in service while the other is being cleaned up. I recommend them but you need to be a bit handy to get them going. It says not for outdoor use but I have mine on a well-screened in porch and it does very well there.
