Rowenta DW2090 Effective Comfort Cord Reel Iron
Iron features an automatic cord reel system so the cord length can be adjusted as needed or retracted when stored. With an exclusive thumb rest, it's comfortable and easy to handle. It also features 1500 watts of power and variable steam function for easy ironing. There's a highly polished scratch-resistant stainless steel Microsteam300 soleplate with precision tip to deliver excellent ironing performance even with hard-to-reach areas. Plus, the soleplate has a round shape at the back to go back and forth without creases. Self clean system flushes out loose mineral deposits, and the vertical steam function allows iron to be used in the upright position to remove wrinkles from drapes and hanging garments. Three-way auto shut-off turns the iron off in eight minutes if left vertically and 30 seconds if left horizontally or tipped over. With a large soft-touch rear, it has extra stability when the iron is on its heel, and the large water tank holds 8.45 ounces. UL listed. Model # DW2090.

Beware of this iron
Bought this iron at Bed Bath and Beyond in Florida. Trusted the store's good name, therefore trusted the product they were selling. Believed I was buying a good high end iron. Today I used the iron for the second time. It caught on fire as I was using it! Had to throw it outside to get it to stop flaming. Flames, smoke and burning smell very overpowering! Very frightening. On reading reviews, and checking my iron, realized I had bought the "MADE IN CHINA" model. Did not know Rowenta promoted a model not made in Germany. Very disappointed in the Rowenta name.

Don't bother
I had a Rowenta before that lasted a pretty long time. Got this one when I dropped my first one. I thought the cord reel would be a plus, but that broke within a month. Then it started to turn off whenever it felt like it. I have no patience for products that cost this much but don't work. don't buy this iron!

Do not buy this iron - Rowenta effective comfort I
I have had this iron less than year. Apparently the thermostat is no longer working. It turned on and as I was ironing, it turned off and will not turn back on.
I do not use it often or for long periods of time. I was expecting to use this for many years
I will never buy another Rowenta product.
As you probably know, fixing it would cost more to have it repaired than to buy a new (not Rowenta product) iron.

Good, but not THAT good
I purchased this iron because of a prior purchase. First off, the iron works beautifully! It does everything the average iron does not, doesn't scorch clothing even if out of temperature and really steams quite efficiently. The downside? The retractable cord. This will go bad on you sooner or later. Mine was shooting sparks right at the end of the cord while using after scarping against the hard plastic casing the cord sits in. Be very careful as to how you handle this iron. It's even now going off, coming on, going off....not cool at all. Check out a Rowenta WITHOUT the retractable cord. You'll be happy you did.
