Wonderfull for Induction Cooktop I received a conduction cooktop device for Christmas this year. The gifter did not buy the cookware offer that came with the cooktop. However, my cast iron skillets and enameled cast iron dutch oven works very well. But, I needed some kind of saucepans to use too. I also got a gift card from BBB so I thought I'd try there first. I just wanted to buy one pan to test before I invested in a full set. I found just what I needed. The Calphalon 2.5 qt.tri-ply covered shallow pan is perfect for the induction cooktop. The price was great too. Other brands that I had read about online had gotten really bad reviews for their "induction ready" pans, (did not work at all). So, I read all the labels at the store very carefully to be sure before I bought anything that they didn't have an "aluminium core" sandwitched between the 18/10 stainless steel base. It was worth the time and effort. This pan is great! It cleans up beautifully. I can use it as a skillet too as the base is 8". It works great on my glasstop stove as well. I would highly recommend this product. I plan on buying the 8 piece set soon. February 10, 2013
nice heavy pan I have had this pan for a couple of months and find it to be perfect in so many ways. It is quite a heavy pan and is not billed as "non stick," however, I was told that if I let the pan preheat before adding oil, it will indeed be non stick. That does work and I don't have to worry about chipping off some surface that I will then be eating. I like the clear lid so can see what is really happening without lifting the lid, it heats up quickly and stays hot, it is really an excellent addition to my pans. September 15, 2011
