I bought a block of the Wusthof Classic knives, and had a few slots left, so I bought the 5" Santoku (and the 7" Santoku), and I am absolutely in love. I use the 5" Santoku daily. The weight and size of the knife is perfect for pretty much anything. I have small hands, so a big, bulky knife is really not for me. You can use this for anything from slicing cheese and salami (as thin as you please) to chopping vegetables, to...well, your imagination is really the only limitation. I love the rest of my set, but this knife is the front-runner for me.
