Redesigned, great customer service
As with many other reviews, my box grater developed cracks in the plastic frame around the cutting blades. I contacted Micromplane customer service. Ashley asked me to send a couple of photos of the defect and the inside of the grater. She informed me that my grater was not the re-designed model and that she would send the new one right out to me. Great customer service and a great grater! Use the protective glove because it is VERY sharp.

Doesn't live up to company's standards
I have had my grater for about a year. I loved it until tonight. As I grated some cheese I noticed the ribbon shred blade moving. Upon closer examination, I found that the black plastic housing had cracks all across the top and bottom and the same on the opposite side. To my knowledge, it had never been dropped. It was washed by hand or in the top rack of the dishwasher. I went to several sites that carry the product to read the reviews. This is an all-to-common complaint with this grater; happening anywhere from a few weeks to several months. Before this problem, I admit, the blades outperform any other box grater made. Unfortunately those blades can't function without the housing. I will buy their Professional line of all metal, single purpose graters. I know they won't break. Having 4 blades in one product is very convenient IF the product holds up to frequent use. For the money, this isn't worth replacing.
