I have a sinus condition that is irritated by dry air. I bought this unit to use at work on my desk and it is wonderful. I have been using it for 3 weeks now without any problems and I do not experience my dry cough as long as I leave this running. I like that it takes little space and runs silent. If the water runs out while I'm away, it turns itself off. Highly recommend. I'm going to buy a second one for home.

When it worked it worked great, but it only worked for one week. I will exchange it and give it another chance but it's definitely not worth the $29.99 price. Obviously it's not built to last.

Don't waste your time
I bought this today to use at work. The heat at work is unbearable and DRY. I tried it at home tonight, just to see how it worked. It didn't last 10 minutes before it stopped working completely . The plug got very HOT and the unit got quite hot. Now I have to wast more time returning it. Don't waste your time.

I purchased this about halfway through a long stay in a very dry hotel room in Anchorage, AK. The difference it made was phenomenal. Before picking this unit up I was waking up very dry and constantly zapping everything in the hotel room from the build up of static electricity. This eliminated the zapping and made the room itself much more comfortable. Several of my co-workers noted the difference between their rooms and mine and expressed jealousy over the results.
It fits quite neatly into my luggage and is ideal for travel. And now that I'm home it's chugging away quite nicely to counteract the drying effects of radiator heating.
