Gorgeous but made poorly
I purchased 3 sets and so far I have had 10 of the dinner plates break. We stopped using the dryer setting on the dishwasher thinking that was the problem, and have had 4 plates break in the past 5 days. Twice we have walked to the counter to place them in the dishwasher and just before setting it on the counter, the plate broke right in half. Several times, we have lifted them out of the dishwasher to put them away, and they broke in half while lifting them out of the dishwasher. We only have an issue with the dinner plates, the rest of the pieces have been great. I would not recommend this set - I love everything about them - if only they wouldn't break so easily - I'm going to have to find something different.

Even more beautiful than I expected!
These dishes are absolutely beautiful and are a perfect if you are looking for everyday dinnerware with an upscale but earthy feel. The glaze on each piece is unique and results in a slightly different, but sublte design that really catches your eye. You will not be disappointed. I have only had the pieces 1 month, but they appear pretty durable despite the elegance and microwave without getting too hot.
Several pieces arrived broken and Mikasa couldn't have been nicer about sending replacements immediately. Well done!

Quality product
After another dinnerware purchase at another on line company that was terrible, I found this Mikasa Linden set at Bed Bath and Beyond. This dinnerware stays beautiful, doesn't mark up from the flatware or dishwasher. I've only had it for a month or so but has already gotten a lot of use and shows no signs. Beautiful pattern and design. Only one warning, the dinner plates are a little larger than standard size and don't fit in a standard kitchen cabinet, so check your measurements first. But otherwise I love them!

Very nice, but two plates had scratches
I would have given five stars because these are very nice, but two of the eight plates had a small area that had been scratched (not terrible, but disappointing). I'm guessing someone at the factory had stacked many plates on top of one another without protection and then the plates moved causing the scratches. Had I seen this set in a store, I would not have purchased if scratched, but since I ordered online, it isn't worth returning because the scratches aren't that bad. However, I believe a new set of dishes should not have any scratches!!!
