Wish I'd purchased something else
some (not all) of my dishes have done the same thing a previous reviewer mentioned--the cracking. Also the butter dish and salt shaker have what appears to be mildew under the 'top coat' for lack of a better description. These have never been microwaved. When I called Mikasa I was told that the cracks are from putting them in the microwave before they are completely dry (???). They say they are microwave safe so.... And they would get 'wet' with food right? They said they would give a discount on more Mikasa dishes but would not replace the defective items. Decided to pass on that...

Not microwave-safe.
Although I like the pattern, the dinner plates and bread plates developed dark lines after using in microwave 1 - 2 minutes.

Quality is beyond what was expected
We received this set from our registry as a wedding gift over a year ago. I have been so please with this dishware we have just purchased a second 45pc set for "Backup" Id hate to break a dish and not be able to replace it 5 years from now. I am confident this set will last our lifetime! Highly recommended!
