Not worth $160
First, I have to say that this machine works and seems durable enough. I have many criticisms though. You cannot slide the open/close lever unless you hold down hard on the top. Not good for older people. Second, long after you make a bottle, the nozzle inside keeps dripping and makes a mildew smell if you don't leave it open between uses. Third, the crystal bottle tipped over on the countertop and broke right off. This would be tolerable if BB&B stocked replacement crystal bottles. The search function on the website is poor, so you have to scan through columns of flavoring packets to find a bottle- if it were there. ALL the bottles are out of stock and the plastic ones won't work in my machine. Give this a pass. Buy the cheap plastic machine.

Wonderful Addition to our office
We purchased this machine shortly after moving our office to add something different to the kitchen. The entire office enjoys the SodaStream machine. We purchased the more expensive model with the sturdy glass bottle because it is used by all (approximately 25 people). We've had multiple people deciding this would be on their Christmas list this year. Some people drink just the water, others add flavor to the water and those who drink soda find the flavors wonderful and are thrilled with less calories per serving.

$80 Just to Get Glass?
The only difference between the base model and this is the "style/ appearance", and it comes with glass bottles instead of plastic. So if you want to get away from plastic and move to glass, it costs you an extra $80 over the base model price. That's some expensive glass bottle! Coke bottles have a $0.05 deposit value, how do these guys figure they've priced this fairly? The whole unit is just a straw attached to a CO2 bottle. The product works, but the way SodaStream has set their pricing is outrageous!
