Favorite coffee maker...
I have been using this coffee pot in our vacation home and another one when we are back in our hometown for many years. I love being able to grind beans daily without measuring for each cup. We just moved and our coffee pot was in storage. I couldn't wait until we found the box that contained our Cuisinart coffee maker!

GREAT COFFEE MAKER
Is easy to use, and it lasts. I love coffee and I have "worked" this machine for about 5 years now and couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend it. Loved it so much I bought one for my mother in law for her birthday. The grinder is a little noisy, but I love waking up to that sound, next comes the smell, it just starts your day off right.
It's totally programmable, so you can wake up in the morning to fresh coffee. The other thing is if you happen to run out of beans, you can use the grind off function. It also has a brew pause feature, so when I remove the carafe, basically, what happens is it will stop brewing for the time being, I can pour a cup of coffee if I can't wait until it's done brewing entirely. Then I just put it right back in place, and it'll continue brewing until it's done. Just make sure you clean it.

Excellent Unit
I have had 3 different grind and brew coffee makers, and this, by far, is the best. It is much easier to clean than the others, make phenomenal tasting coffee, is easy to use, and it lasts. I have owned this unit for about 5 years now and couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend it.

Easy to use, great coffee
This model is simple to use, very programmable, easy to clean - and makes great coffee. Yes, the grinder is a little noisy. Our bedroom is right next to the kitchen and the coffee maker sits atop a cabinet near the door. With the door closed you can hear it run, but it's more a quiet reminder to roll out than objectionable.
The grinder unit is superior to the design on some of the less expensive Cuisinart Grind & Brew models, which was the deciding factor in our purchase decision. The bean container holds 2-4 days worth of beans depending on how you brew your coffee. It provides an air-tight lid to prevent the beans from going stale. The path from the burrs to the brewing basket is accessible after removing the bean container and easy to clean.
Because a normally closed metal door separates the grind path from the brewing basket, steam is preventing from entering this area and creating a gooey mess by mixing with the ground coffee that doesn't make it into the basket, as reviewers have reported with the less expensive models - the ones with a small round bean container in the back corner. Cuisinart provides a tiny plastic brush to clean the area above above the door. I use a 1-inch long bristle paintbrush, which works wonderfully.
A carafe heater is part of the unit, and can be programmed for up to 4 hours IIRC. We have it set for an hour, and it keeps the coffee plenty warm.
Used a $20 on-line discount offer with our purchase so the landed cost was around $150 - reasonable for this appliance, imo.
With only 4 or 5 weeks on the unit, longevity is unknown, but so far, I'd buy this again in a caffeine-accelerated heartbeat.
