made one snow cone before breaking
It is cute by design, but after making just one it broke. You put the ice in the top and then turn this plastic piece to engage the grinder, well it stopped engaging. It would do it for a spit second and then stop so somehow whatever triggers the switch fully on wasn't keeping it on. It was cheaply made for sure, and I am very disappointed in the product. And to top it all off it was a "Santa" gift for my four year old daughter so she was VERY upset, and even more upset when I said we had to send it back to the North Pole. Returning it to Bed Bath and Beyond was easy and hassle free and after looking over the other choices I ended up purchasing the much more expensive one b/c it looks to be of a much higher quality. We shall see, but for certain will not be purchasing anything electronic from this company again.

He loves it
We got this for for my 12 years old son and he loves it. He has made us all sno cones and it does a great job and is a snap to clean up. He did wish it came with a scoop, although we just bought a set of measuring cups that were shaped like scoops and he just uses the large 1 cup size to get the ice out. He was also creative enough to find a small hand held colander that gives him the perfect shape for the top of the sno cone, plus be small enough he can store them both in the sno cone maker, which has found a permanent home on our kitchen counters. We also,gave him a 10 pack of syrups we had found online. They are large bottles and included his favorite favors, like tigers blood. It was $30 for the 10 pack and they arrived very quickly. Just google sno cone syrups. I can't remember the name, but it was the only 10 pack. We store ours in the fridge so they don't melt the ice right away when you put them on. Enjoy!

One word: Fantastic!!!!!!!
This sonw cone machine is great for all ages. Me and my daugter have so much fun and we do it every day. It tastes great and its a great way to bond.
