Disappointed
I bought this and tested it but it took over 15 minutes before it reached pressure to start cooking. That defeats the purpose of a pressure cooker.

Nesco Electric Pressure Cooker
This is our second Nesco electric pressure cooker - both identical. My wife and I have been completely 'taken' by the utility and ease of doing various cooking tasks with this device. This model has an operating pressure of 15 lbs per square inch (like the stove top pressure cookers) instead of the 6 to 10 of other electrics. Why is this important? Cooking is FASTER for one thing BUT the hidden benefit is that you can use recipes from those cookers. The lower operating pressures of other machines require their own recipes.
We were first introduced to electric pressure cookers thru Chef Brad of PBS stations. He is famous for his cooking healthy with grains etc.

This is the one!
It comes to pressure beautifully! Easy to keep clean. You can buy a stainless steel insert on amazon. It turns off by itself, what more could you ask? I made birthday stew for myself in 13 minutes! Yum. Wish I would of bought this years ago.

excellent
I have had this cooker for about 21/2 years and love it. I feel it is safer than the stove top pressure cookers and has extra perks like browning and slow cook. It's unfortunate that this was given such a poor review by someone because it was delivered damaged and they never had the opportunity to experience this cooker and how great it is. As far as the Cuisinart pressure cooker is concerned I bought one for my daughter and after a few months it would no longer hold pressure. After reading some reviews on it found out that was a problem for many other purchasers. Replaced hers with the Fagor electric pressure cooker and she loves it as much as I love my Nesco.
