Excellent Brewer!
We've purchased a few coffee brewers over the years, from grind & brew to the new "packet" style. The Verismo is BY FAR the best we've had! The brewed coffee tastes just like the industrial version at the corner Startbucks. The operation is simple and intuitive and the finished product is amazing! The coffee is so good, we usually don't need to add sugar. We're VERY pleased!

Great taste, a bit confusing to operate at first
The Verismo 585 coffee maker is well worth the expense. The machine is a bit difficult to learn to operate, but once you learn to translate the owners manual into plain English, you will have a great cup of coffee. Starbuck's really has perfected the steamed milk feature with their milk pods. I do hope they continue to come out with additional flavor options though. They are currently a bit limited. I chose this machine over Nespresso due to the fact that you can buy the coffee pods locally (and use your Bed Bath & Beyond discount coupons too) and don't have to subscribe to online purchasing from Nespresso. The only negative I have experienced so far is when the machine informs you that it has to be cleaned (other than daily cleaning). The instructions were vague at best. It does not specify how high you need to fill the water tank for this process. I unfortunately filled the tank completely (big mistake). It took me over an hour to complete this task because you cannot pour out water once you have begun the process. It also states that this feature needs to be performed about every 100 cups. I have had my machine only a few weeks and have not had nearly 100 cups...more like 35. You have to complete the process or the machine will not reset itself. I was also disappointed to learn that the machine also comes in silver rather than black. I was not offered a color option as I would have preferred the silver. All in all, a great purchase & a great cup of coffee.

Best Machine!!
I bought the Verismo 585 because I wanted the flexibility of making latte's and espresso as well as regular coffee. Great machine! Enough pressure to make a great espresso, but because of the pods, no burned bitter taste. The Starbucks flavors of regular coffee are the best on the market. Not the only machine I've tried, but definitely the best.

Lattes at Home
My husband is a huge Starbucks latte lover. The Verismo 585 makes it easy to create great lattes as well as other drinks. It is quick, simple, tasty. Saves gas, too - as he is not driving to get one every day;-) Only thing I would consider negative is cleaning the bin each day - the pods tend to have a lot of liquid left in them, so I remove and wash out each use. But the taste is worth it.
