impractical drudgery
We purchased a set of Noritake Colorwave dishes a few years ago and use them every day. We bought them because we liked the color and design. However, I'm very unsatisfied with the dark scratches that are constantly appearing on the shiny part of the surface. I use Bar Keeper's Friend to polish the dishes periodically and also whenever we're having guests. What a pain! I've never had this problem with other dishes that we've owned over the years. I resent having to keep polishing off the scratches to keep them looking nice. I read Noritake's response to other comments reguarding the scratches being due to several causes but I own other types of dishes and the scratches don't occur on them. As for me, I feel as though I'm stuck with beautiful but very impractical dishes.

HAS GREAT FEATURES, BUT ....
I LOVE THE DISHES, BUT THE PLATES SCRATCH VERY EASILY FROM THE USE OF CUTLERY. I CALE DAND COMPLAINED WHEN THE DISHES WERE NEW, GOT REPLACEMENTS, BUT THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THESE PLATES, JUST FIGURE I I HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT.

Beautiful!
I love this stoneware pattern. It is great for everyday and elegant for any special occasion. I have dropped them and they did not break. They can go in the dishwasher. I like having a mug rather than a cup and saucer. With the cream color I can use it for every holiday and special occasion. The color looks great with just about every accent colors I choose.
