that this will work. The first time I used it a warp like bubble appeared on the bottom. After doing some research I saw that you are NOT supposed to wash with soap because it is bamboo and that soap taste would soak into the wood. I will rinse with hot water and line it with foil or parchment paper when cooking poultry or seafood. I hope that I do not get any more warps or bubbles and if I do then I will return it.

Falling Apart after One Use
The first time I used it, a bamboo strip on the bottom split and fell off. Next time, same thing plus a strip on the lid feel off. Works great but after a couple more uses there will likely be nothing left to it.

I love this steamer!
I have been using this bamboo steamer for years.i use it all the time.i just clean with water.its out lasted 2 other electric steamers i had.i highly recommend it for yourself and as a gift.

A Must Have For Your Health!
This bamboo steamer has served me well for more than three years. Being a health nut, I tried all kinds of ways to steam vegetables without destroying the nutrients yet retain flavor and texture. This is where the bamboo steamer came to the rescue. The vegetables are tender yet have a bit of a crunch when you are done steaming them when using this bamboo steamer. It is easy to clean with mild dish soap and warm water. It makes great Chinese steamed dumplings (or pot stickers). It is great for reheating rice or pasta. Sometimes, I take a sheet of aluminum and poke holes through it with a fork or knife and then line the bottom of the bamboo steamer for rice and certain other vegetables like English peas. Sometimes, I drizzle a wee bit of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) and some salt on my food and it turns out delectably delicious. I would not use anything else to steam with. You get two levels to steam with so that means two different food items. Americans need to rely on this steamer for their daily regime and they also must give one to their friends. I do all the time because I want my friends to be healthy. All it takes is one change at a time and this is one minor change with big results. What a way to get healthy and be creative and delicious at the same time.
