Dyson Air Multiplier AM01 10" Table Fan - Blue/Iron
The Dyson Air Multiplier" fan works very differently from conventional fans. It uses Air Multiplier" technology to draw in air and amplify it 15 times, producing an uninterrupted stream of smooth air with no unpleasant buffeting. With no blades or grill, it is safe to use and easy to clean. It pivots on its own center of gravity, staying put without clamping, and has a dimmer switch control to precisely adjust airflow power. Also has one-touch oscillation for 90° rotation. UL listed. Two-year manufacturer's warranty on parts and labor. Model # 19005-01.

Nice but noisy (louder than hoped)
I like the Dyson 10" table fan but, is is somewhat more noisy (louder) than I had hoped. It is actually louder than the 8" Lakewood fan I was hoping to replace. The best aspect of the Dyson fan is the way it moves the air toward you without the feeling of being blown on like conventional blade fans do. I also do like the ability to adjust the Dyson fan vertically and the side to side rotation (which is nice and quite). A side benefit, is that the Dyson fan is a great conversation starter. Everyone wants to know.. "What the heck is that thing?" The bigger question to me now, is how long will the fan hold up and will it get louder over time (or quieter) and will it out last the two year warranty?? For what it costs, I would certainly hope so!

Poor start, but easily fixed.
My AM01 table fan was dead out of the box. I noticed instructions in the owner's manual for replacing the fuse, which is lodged in the power plug. Though a reasonably standard rating (5 amp, 125 volt), the fuse is very small, and I failed to find a replacement at Radio Shack or Advance Auto Parts. However, Ace Hardware had some in stock. The brand is GE, and the package noted "for Pro-Line miniature, icicle, and net light sets." The lesson here is to look for or ask about fuses associated with holiday or Christmas lights. The staffers who tried to help me were flummoxed by the small size of the fuse; apparently they just don't see those. I may be lucky that Ace Hardware still had some packages on the rack, given that May is a long way from the holiday season. A package includes four fuses, so I should be good for a long time.
My fan runs perfectly after I replaced the fuse. I'm using it in my bedroom, where all I want to do is circulate the air a bit. At the lower range of speed it is suitably quiet and unobtrusive. It really like the design, and it may prove a conversation piece. I'm giving it four stars only because of the inconvenience I faced in getting it running. That's likely just a random bit of bad luck, and I would not make too much of it.

A Filter would be awesome
While I find this fan to be spectacular, I think the addtion of a filter would take it up a notch!

AM01 Table Fan 10 inch
A GREAT little fan. It moves an unbelievable amount of air. It's also a facinating conversation piece. We wouldn't hesitate to buy another Dyson product.
