I bought this recently for my son & future Daughter in Law for a housewarming present, they absolutely love it; the silver finish matches their stainless steel kitchen!

This Mixer Flips Up Quite Easily!
Either MandiinKingwood (Texas) has another brand of mixer or hasn't seen the lever on the right side of the Artisan mixer that pushes back for flipping the mixer up and pulls forward to lock the mixer down! Pretty simple...just look at the mixer or read the directions.

Doesn't flip up - HASSLE to use.
I bought this mixer because my mom has a smaller version - and it is fantastic. Unfortunately, this larger model doesn't flip up, so you can easily remove the bowl or beater. It is so cumbersome to use. I HATE this mixer.
It mixes fine - but it is such a hassle trying to remove the bowl and or beater - I always make a mess. So I am giving it a generous 3 stars - mixes great, but hard to use.
