never buy this Picked up on Friday took it back on Monday. Could not read and understand the instructions. Would not function, nothing worked even going to the web site. Do not buy this product, read the reviews!!!!!!!!!!! April 4, 2013
Eats batteries Pros: Large beautiful screen. Excellent features and clock sets itself. Remote transmitter has a LED screen to indicate temperature. Cons: Eats batteries. Apparently the designers didn't take into account the Large power requirements of the Large beautiful LED screens. This unit should be re-designed with either a larger/different battery compartment or probably what it really needs is an alternative plug-in power supply with transformer. The box says batteries last "up to 1 year". I purchased in May and am returning in August after 3 sets of batteries have failed. La Crosse admits as much by stating that their #1 problem is run-down batteries. August 21, 2012
