| Favors not only help personalize your reception and allow your guests to bring a bit of the party home, they are thoughtful mementos that help you express your gratitude. A wedding favor can be as simple as baked cookies or elaborate as individually monogrammed tote bags. It all comes down to what you want to spend - and what feels like a reflection of your personal style. Here are some things to think about before you start your favor brainstorming: |

Budget |
| Figure out how much you want to spend overall, and then divide that number by the number of guests. That’s what each item should cost. If you plan on wrapping the favors or personalizing them with cards, remember to factor those expenses into your budget. It’s also important to source your items with at least three different vendors, to determine that you’re receiving the best price possible. |

When to Give Them Out |
| You can give out favors anytime during the reception. One couple wrapped lavender soaps with beautiful paper and used them as place cards - each bar had a guest’s name and table number. Other couples leave favors on the seats, so guests discover them when they walk into the reception. Another idea is to wait until the end of the party, and have your favors set out on a table or personally handed out as guests leave the party. |

Bring It Back to You |
| Why not match your personal interests to your favors? Do you really enjoy music? Why not create a love song CD and give out a copy to each of your guests. Then personalize it by including a sweet photo of yourselves - and the date of your wedding - in the jewel case. Another idea is to offer lollypops, sweet tarts, and other sugary items in netting and tie it with a bow. |

Work Your Wedding Theme |
| If you’re having a beach wedding, maybe you want to wrap saltwater taffy in colored cellophane. A winter wedding could call for a tin of hot cocoa, with a special label featuring your names and the date of your wedding. |
